So here’s the rub: the Faculty
cannot do this alone – we need
practices and veterinarians – private/
regulatory/industry – with a passion
for making a difference in their world
– to sign up for the pilot and join
with us in making a difference. If you
are interested to become involved,
or simply want to know more,
please contact Mrs Rene Perridge at
Rene.Perridge@up.ac.zaor call her at

Some years ago a college professor
transformed the world around her,
despite huge personal problems,
by following a simple but profound
calling: “I’m out to change my world,
you watch, you wait, you’ll see”.
At the Faculty we are committed to
making a difference and changing
our world – one student at a time
– and through them to better our
country and world.

• Blue: conveys a sense of trust, honesty and loyalty; also reliability and responsibility.
• Yellow: produces a warming effect, arouses cheerfulness and stimulates mental activity.
In Greek mythology, the “Rod of Asclepius” (also known as the “Staff of Asclepius, sometimes spelled Asklepios
of Aesculapius) is a serpent-entwined rod wielded by the Greek god Asclepius, a deity associated with healing and
medicine. This symbol has been continued to be used in modern times, where it is associated with medicine and
health care.
The “V” is a widely recognised symbol of the veterinarian and can be seen in many veterinary logos world-wide.

New SAVA logo launched
The SAVA Board of Directors recently approved a new logo for the SAVA. The new logo is clean and
orderly (representing a professional association), yet modern and easily recognisable.
"Many veterinarians have a strong desire to invest in veterinary students
or potential students. They willingly spend time and effort in allowing
learners or students to see practice with them; they take the message into
schools or, through their work, inform and educate communities."
