VN November 2021

Vetnuus | November 2021 26 Dr Ziyanda Majokweni serves on the board of SAVA. Happy birthday on the 19th of November! I am a SAVA member, a member of the poultry vets group and a SAVA Board Member. My vision is to see a SAVA that is aligned with the needs of its members and represent the aspirations of all veterinarians in the country. I’d like to see young vets being active within SAVA and enabled by SAVA programmes to grow in their careers, provide the necessary leadership within the Agri and other related sectors within our country, and become world-renowned experts in their field of choice. I’d like to see SAVA become a trusted partner to its key stakeholders and have a stronger, more impactful relationship with the state and other stakeholders. I believe collectively, SAVA members have a more significant role to play in contributing towards national imperatives, as the DALRRD Minister so eloquently indicated at the SAVC Indaba 2021, and as its leadership, we need to enable this participation for the good of the country. In all my dealings within SAVA, I am guided by its credo, this vision and I support what is ethical and fair. Long time ago! 1995 I didn’t study at Onderstepoort I completed my degree at the then MEDUNSA, now known as Sefako Makgatho. To date, people call me Tripple Z or Zee!
