We operate two family-orientated clinics (Village Vets and Family Vet) in the ‘back-garden’ of Hong Kong, with no ‘on-call’ or after hour duties. Work alongside general specialist and advanced practitioners. Our clientele is dedicated to their animals, enabling you to practise to a high standard. We strive for a plain and simple, efficient but vibrant workplace environment. The clinics are well equipped with ultrasound, digital radiology, dental radiology, laparoscopy and blood machines for in-house blood tests and work-ups. We offer routine and referral veterinary services, abdominal ultrasound, echocardiography with occasional orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Advanced imaging (CT/MRi) are readily available on a referral basis. Our staff and translators are friendly and always ready to help out. Salaries commensurate with experience and range from R140 000 to R 186 000 per month (current exchange rate). Hong Kong tax is charged progressively with the highest tax bracket capped at 17%, and has numerous deductions including a tax-free basic allowance of R22 000 per month, as well as generous child and married person’s allowances. The position is for someone that is comfortable performing consultations and basic surgeries such as sterilizations, pyometras, and dentistry. The ideal candidate would have basic experience of at least 2 to 4 years and able to take sole charge of a clinic. Candidates must be registered with the SAVC. 40% of Hong Kong’s area consists of country parks. In most places the skyline is dominated by the mountains. The territory is divided into enclaves, with tropical forests, fresh water streams, pools, beaches and islands never far off, and of course there is ample hustle and bustle for the city slickers as well. Hong Kong boasts hundreds of hiking trails, camp sites, rock climbing and water sports around the many islands. The region is well serviced by an efficient and affordable public transport system and boast one of the lowest crime rates in the world. Residents (on a work visa) also enjoys access to a world class health care system. It’s a regional travel hub with the beaches of Thailand and Bali, or the powder snow of Japan just a few hours’ flight away, and Australia only 6-8 hours’ away.
