September 2023 7 Dogs and cats younger than 12 weeks (three months) oldmay be vaccinated, but then you need to have them re-vaccinated at 12 weeks old and follow the booster guidelines as above. Older dogs and cats that have never been vaccinated before can receive their first rabies vaccination at any age and they also require a booster vaccine between one to 12 months after the first vaccine.
