September 2023 7  Dogs and cats younger than 12 weeks (three months) oldmay be vaccinated, but then you need to have them re-vaccinated at 12 weeks old and follow the booster guidelines as above.  Older dogs and cats that have never been vaccinated before can receive their first rabies vaccination at any age and they also require a booster vaccine between one to 12 months after the first vaccine.
