The KZN Branch is a local affiliate of the South African Veterinary Association. It is the mouth piece of our members and is constituted to administer the workings of our profession.
To do this the Kwazulu Natal Branch of the SAVA attempts to represents all facets of the Veterinary Profession in KZN. However, changes of late have made it difficult to achieve this with no representation from the state, equine practitioners and large animal practitioners. We continue to have strong representation with regard to animal welfare and the CVC projects.
The committee continues to play an active role in organizing on going education (through Continuing Professional Development), promotion of the profession in its various forms, the resolution of disputes through mediation with Veterinarians and the Public, and the organization of Sport and Social events.  The committee has reinstituted its bimonthly CPD programme due to popular demand. This venture has been well supported by our industry partners and continues to provide challenging yet practical CPD to the general practitioner.
The KZN Branch of the SAVA is a non racial, non political mouth piece of the Veterinary Profession in KZN. Its strength lies in its members and all Veterinarians of good standing are encouraged to enroll.
