Compassion Fatigue – prevention and cure

Compassion Fatigue and the Veterinary Team

Our other main focus for the year is the Soccer day:

The JHB Branch hosts a Soccer Day event every 2 years.

What began in 2003 as a humble event aimed at giving back to the Kennel Staff in our Veterinary Practices has morphed into an event eagerly anticipated on the calendar. All Veterinary Practice staff can play and teams entered compete for trophies and various other prizes. Industry also enter teams and at the 2019 event [The 10th Biennial Event], there were over 320 registered players from Vets and Industry.

The committee are privileged to be able to give back to the staff who are so important in our businesses – staff who are often the backbone of client interaction and do more marketing for us than we realise – as well as being able to involve Industry companies who pay such a pivotal role in our profession.

A sport that South Africans are passionate about is definitely a unifying thing and if you have never attended or played in one of these events as a JHB Branch Practice, we encourage active participation.
