Aims and objectives of ABIG

The aim of ABIG is to promote the fields of animal behaviour and human-animal interaction in the veterinary and veterinary nursing professions.


The objectives of the group are:

  • To provide a forum for discussion and debate on issues relating to animal behaviour, veterinary behaviour therapy and human-animal interaction. 
  • To promote and participate in continuing veterinary education and research in these fields, locally as well as internationally.
  • To promote education of the general public, especially people who are involved in animal-related activities, on these topics. 
  • To enhance the profile of veterinarians and veterinary nurses by promoting the hands-on involvement of these professions in animal behaviour, veterinary behaviour therapy and human-animal interaction.
